Update (and bumped): Fitna has been pulled from Liveleak due to death threats. If you show news footage. If you quote the Koran. If you do so in the name of freedom of speech. You will be threatened with death. The press will collude with the enemy.

And the worthy people will blame you even as your head is being cut from your neck.

Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers.

This a mere twenty-four hours since Liveleak's valiant articulation to the right to freedom of expression. But can you blame them? (Actually, I do.) The police will not protect them, the Army is overseas and the Establishment a nest of traitors from top to bottom. I used to live in Manchester when it was still almost England.

The white feather is via the comments at Ace. It goes out to Liveleak and every other broadcaster and news organization on earth.

Update: Download/watch Fitna.

Update: Fitna is now hosted at the Dust My Broom server. This. Is. CANADA!

Updates: From the blogosphere:
Solomonia (who can provide the file if necessary):

You know, I can appreciate LiveLeak's decision given credible threats, but let it never happen that my country ever backs down in such a way. Please, never my country. A nation can never behave that way. Europe may practice a different calculus. Let's hope North America never does.

Small Dead Animals (who is figuring out how to set up the file) and Voltaire at the end of days:

Michael van der Galien chronicles the astonishing efforts to stop the film from being seen in the Netherlands. "I disagree with your opinion that Islam is violent, but I will fight to the death to prevent you from inciting them". Or something like that.

Jay Currie (working on hosting an .mp4 file - link added above):

It is much worse than a sad day for free speech on the net - it is proof that militant Islam can overpower our most basic rights. Fitna was political commentary. It had footage which was widely available. What made it unacceptable to the Islamofascists is that it made the direct link between the terror and atrocities committed by radical Islamists and the nature of Islam.

Mark Steyn:

....a film such as Fitna might not even be necessary were the western news organizations not so absurdly deferential toward Muslim sensibilities that they go out of their way to avoid showing us anything that might cause us to link violence with Islam. Even that footage of those depraved West Bankers jumping up and down in the street and passing out candy to celebrate 9/11 appears to have been walled up in the most impenetrable vault of the archives these last six years. Both CNN and the BBC could only bring themselves to show the Danish cartoons by pixelating Mohammed's face - the first time this technique has ever been applied to a drawing, as if the Prophet had entered the witness protection program. At one level, they make Wilders' point for him, but, at another, they make it less likely anyone else will step forward to try to make the point next time.

Update 03/29: The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour condemns Fitna - a film she almost certainly has not seen - and calls for "appropriate restrictions" on all forms of freedom of speech. Perhaps the crocodile will eat her last.

Update 03/29: CNN reports on Wilders' film, the Netherlands and Liveleak caving to threats. The film itself if apparently insufficiently newsworthy for CNN to show it in its entirety.

A London-based Web site has dropped a Dutch lawmaker's film that features disturbing images of terrorist acts juxtaposed with verses from the Quran to paint Islam as a threat to Western society, citing threats to its staff.

I was under the impression Liveleak is based in Manchester. The linked video shows carefully edited clips from the film. My favourite bit is where the screen fades to black before United Airlines Flight 175 hits the WTC South Tower. Wouldn't want to show that; somebody might find it upsetting. Muslims are not the only people who can be "provoked".

Funny, I heard somewhere that Islam means "peace".

Time to torrent the hell out of that thing.

And whose ass do we have to kick to DEMAND the CBC air this film in its entirety?

I am looking at you Prime Minister Harper.

Watch the skies for the Muslim Dark Mark, people. (Scroll down past all the blah about my life to the last paragraph.) It's coming any day now... if the smoke from the World Trade Center wasn't enough. Oh sorry, was that being rude to Islam?

Posted by: Andrea Harris [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 28, 2008 08:46 PM

It will be up as an MP4 at my site shortly.

I would love to see Canadians spit in the face of the Islamofascists and their lib/left enablers and post this from sea to shining sea.

I have the Westcoast covered.

We're hosting it at http://no-libs.com

It's both on the mainpage and in the video gallery.

I have also linked to all the links. My opinion is that Fitna is not really a big deal. It's amateur time, incendiary, and wouldn't have been a pimple on an elephant's ass had "Islam" kept quiet. It's a cartoon. What's the saying? "Ban it and they will come" seems to fit.

EXACTLY.

" It goes out to Liveleak and every other broadcaster and news organization on earth."

To attribute to them the lack of courage is to assume anthropormorphic qualities where none could exhist for an organization. All the worse for their pre-empetive boasts of defense of freedom. But for each individual and sum via organization..certainly, the white feather.

thank you Flea for articulating...

cheers
