The Lord of the Rings

The musical.

The epic story of Frodo's journey to Mordor through Middle Earth, which won 11 Academy Awards, will cost £8 million to stage - £1.5 million more than the current production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A singing and dancing cast of more than 50 actors will play hobbits, elves, wizards and monsters, and Sauron, the evil Dark Lord, in complex battle scenes.

Reminds me of some dialog from "The Tall Guy":

Agent: Well, the only other thing at the moment is a new musical that the RSC are doing.
Dexter: Er, what's it about?
Agent: The Elephant Man.
Dexter: A musical of the Elephant Man? What's it called?
Agent: "Elephant", I think - with an exclamation mark presumably.
Dexter: Pity the poor bastard who has to play the elephant.
Agent: Remember dearest, everyone thought "Jesus Christ Superstar" was a stupid idea.
Dexter: "Jesus Christ Superstar" WAS a stupid idea.
