I have a sneaking suspicion the headwaters are to be found in Vancouver.
coming to Syfy in 2010
Matt, an American journalist, and his fiancée, Jessie, are killed in an explosion, but reawaken in a very unusual afterlife—a mysterious planet with an endless river terrain. Everyone who has ever lived on Earth has been resurrected simultaneously in this strange new world. Determined to find Jessie, Matt joins forces with an intrepid crew including a 13th century female warrior and Riverboat captain Mark Twain. Embarking upriver, their adventure begins, all the while tracked by the watchful eye of a mysterious alien force.

No Richard Burton? Hmmmm.
Really enjoyed TYSBG and have meant to look for the sequels.

I have a weird sense of deja vu. Didn't they already do Riverworld?

Why yes, yes they did.

Yes, and it was crap forsooth.
This looks like it could actually be interesting. And not having read the novels, my plotline guessing superpowers will be challenged!
It is kind of nice to see scifi that isn't immediately using its trailer to try and lecture you about equivalencies to some modern-day situation.
They did manage to sneak in a 9/11 reference but I suppose they cannot help themselves.
Oh yeah. I caught that, but it interpreted it as a signpost for the audience—Psst! These guys are dead! Dead I say!—rather than a "look what happens when you plebes screw up Pet Cause X."
