The device above is a Hubbard electro-psychometer (E-meter): a crude lie detector used by Scientology auditors (counselors) to examine a person's mental state. Scientologists claim the device allows people to "see a thought". In the hands of a trained auditor, they believe it can uncover "hidden crimes".

Priscilla, Priscilla... poor girl doesn't realise that USAF Staff Sergeant chevrons are always worn on the arm, above the elbow -- never as officer-style epaulettes.

Some of these Sea Org uniforms seem to more closely follow U.S. Navy practice...

The ah, duty uniforms don't look too shabby, actually. The dinner-jacket ones with the tuxedo-esque look need to go, though. I know the U.S. military's blue mess uniforms look the same, but frankly they look like the kind of thing Captain Stubing used to wear at the head table on the Love Boat's Aloha Deck.
