Kaiju
Alan's Kaiju Room offers an introduction to a "truly powerful elemental force" and the growing field of Kaiju-Biology (Godzilla, King Ghidora, Mothra, Rodan... and more!).
Kaiju is translated to "mysterious beast/animal". This is somewhat like "monster" but with a supernatural overtone. Japanese monster movies are often called "kaiju eiga".

I was looking for amusing, personalized (and inexpensive) parting mementoes for about 20 of my soon-to-be-former colleagues, and this might fit the bill. These kaiju origami look like fun but I bet they are bloody murder to assemble. I'll find out soon.
