The Virginia class will be as quiet as the Seawolf class that preceded it, have a longer but narrower hull, and it will be slower, carrying fewer weapons, with a shallower diving depth and lesser under-ice / arctic capabilities.
In essence it's designed as a crossbreed between traditional blue-water (open-ocean) subs, with some brown-water or littoral spec ops combat capabilities thrown in.
Hopefully Congress will decide to fund more than the first four ships of the class, and not strand the production run with only three, like they did with Seawolf.
