Fat, drunk and Canadian

carnival.gif

Welcome to the 19th installment of the Carnival of the Canucks! This week's theme is Fat, drunk, and Canadian!

Ahh, Canada. A big country. A country with big ideas. Going places. Ok, truth be told, and excepting the high alcohol content beer, we can be difficult to pick out of a crowd when that crowd is American. But one voice, one strident whining voice stands up and refuses to say "I'm sorry" when you step on her foot! Yes, I am talking about Canada's own contribution to idiotarianism, still putting the bat in moonbat no matter how much we fact check her stats: Antonia Zerbisias. The Zerbster's latest unhinged screed for a people in search of a clue was like mana from heaven for a blogger in search of a topic. Thanks, Antonia!

Damian Penny is calling it Antoniapalooza (surely that's Zerbapalooza?). Jeff Goldstein's list of links asks us the question that haunts all of us north of the border. Here is my favourite. Indeed, the InstaPundit link round-up is also worth a look. Hmm. But the post I have been waiting for has arrived now that James Lileks throws some love Canada's way. Truly, Antonia Zerbisias has been a cultural ambassador of goodwill for us all, reminding us once again that the myth of Canadian politeness is pure ideology.

But there is more going on north of the border than the Zerbster would have you believe. Bring on the Cancon! It is raining cats in Cowtown. GenX at 40 wonders at the jet on a concrete stick phenomenon. Our future Prime Minister, Stephen Taylor submits an analysis of the pre-campaign so far. Ravishing Light makes a foray into architectural criticism. Raging Kraut explores the great Canadian tradition of cross border shopping. And finally, the Flea's own Canadian definition of success.

Thanks, David for inspiring the Carnival (and tell us more about that impressive product...). Join us at the next Carnival of the Canucks, June 1 at Circadian Shift!

That's, "you said 'favourite', eh?"

There used to be a "u" in "Antonia Zerbisias", but she dropped it, along with the "fckingmoron", when she started writing for the Star.
