The triumphant donation button now appearing in the Pithy section of the sidebar to the left (that's on the main page, click "Main" above) takes you to the Fighting Fusileers' corner of the Heroes of the Blogosphere Challenge. Three teams of bloggers have formed aiming to raise money to help Spirit of America provide the dental kits, frisbees, soccer jerseys and music of which a lasting peace is made. Also, a television station.
News broadcasts in Iraq can be biased, inaccurate and incomplete - to put it mildly. Your contribution will create a television alternative owned and operated by Iraqis. This will provide better information, counter efforts to provoke and help reduce tensions.

Canadian Flea-readers should not assume the donation is tax-deductible. I think of this as a small way to contribute for everyone who wished our profoundly unrepresentative government had stood shoulder to shoulder with our friends instead of making common cause with continental oil and arms industry interests.
