Haig Club

"David Beckham enjoyed a weekend of hospitality in Scotland as he celebrated the global launch of a new whisky he has helped to create."

The sportsman, who played for teams such as Manchester United and Real Madrid during his glittering on-field career, added: "I appreciate a well-made drink and I like to take my time and enjoy it - I try to drink better, not more."

The nip is made at Scotland's oldest grain whisky distillery, Cameronbridge in Fife. According to Diageo, the House of Haig can trace its whisky producing roots back to the 17th century, making the Haig family Scotland's oldest grain whisky dynasty.

"Described as tasting like 'butterscotch-smooth tropical fruit and unexpected, spicy backing harmonies,' the whiskey, which is being sold online for $75, is packaged in a blue flask that resembles a men’s cologne bottle."
