A fragmant of papyrus has emerged demonstrating that at least some early Christians belief Christ was married to Mary Magdalene.
This representation of Jesus as a man with earthly passions and needs has not survived in the doctrines of the established churches, which emphasize celibacy and asceticism as a spiritual ideal.
