Why sharing aircraft carriers with France is a non-starter.

As per the information given by a French navy spokesman, Charles de Gaulle which is an aircraft carrier has been forced to come back to base. This has happened because the aircraft is facing technical and physical damages and was in dire need for repairs.
...
Capt. Hugues d'Argentree, who is involved with the repair work said that the same involves faulty insulation for an electric cabinet. This is present in the propulsion system of the carrier.

Unless the deal is to share virtual carriers in which case, bonne chance.

This is interesting, for two reasons:

1) The Euros have not plans to help out the Yanks in any sort of USA versus China problem that could get hot. This is not new; the Euros usually have the Yanks bail them out, not the other way around.

2) This level of co-operation between European powers should send some shivers of fear into those with a modicum of knowledge of history.

The only place the Brits would want to send a carrier is to the Falklands.

The French and the Germans already have a co-operation agreement (they marched a combined brigade through Paris on June 6, not too long ago.

Has anyone who can actually influence events even heard of Scharnhorst? Napoleon found out about him at the very worst time.
