To Islamophobia... and beyond!

I could not care less what Daisy Khan has to say about anything, let alone her grotesque claim opposition to the Obama Mosque is "like a metastasized antisemitism". If you could be tried for a misplaced simile, any rational court would convict. But I fantasize.

What does bother me is the Wall Street Journal's description of the background to the story.

The words could further inflame an already angry debate about the proposed location of the community center, which opponents denounce as a "victory mosque." Rival protests for and against the $100 million center were planned in lower Manhattan on Sunday.

Some politicians, including New York Governor David Paterson, have called for the project to be moved further away from the area where the World Trade Center collapsed. On Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) also suggested the mosque's location should be changed.

Ahh, yes. "Where the World Trade Center collapsed."

Damn shame about that "collapse". Still a mystery to this day. Even more so, the mysterious Pointing Fingers of Racism directed at the Obama Mosque. Cause? Effect? Who are we to judge?

Blah blah blah. Blallah.

Along the same lines: The Obama administration has classified the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence.

Which makes sense. If Islam had anything to do with it, we would have to classify it as peaceful outer struggle.

Elatedray: The EDL's Tommy Robinson is interviewed on UK TV regarding the Bradford free speech ban/dhimmi speech restrictions.

Note how the report couches the problem as one of preventing "outsiders" who do not understand "local" custom from coming in and inciting violence. A bit bloody late to worried about that.

When the English do it, it's banned. When the British government does it, it's immigration policy for the last fifty years.
