God bless the troops

President George W. Bush Greeting Troops at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Today former President George W Bush and Laura Bush and a group from Slant 45 were on hand at DFW Airport in Dallas Texas greeting Troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan for their 14 day R&R. This was a big surprise to all and a big boast for our Troops.

This video, photos and production are from the www.welcomehomeahero.com Volunteer Team

Update: I forwarded this to a number of people. Here is one reply.

I love George Bush. What they've done to that man is unforgiveable to me. I learned hate for the very first time on September Eleventh...how to be that hated and how to hate them back for all of it. And then being present for all these years watching and listening to what they have put him through...now I REALLY know what hate is.

He's a fine fine man even if I wanted to kickbox him a few times. But then I remember how much he loves our military and let's it show. Like this.

God bless you too, Sondra.

I am almost desperate to say something coherent about it but find it difficult to find the words. It is profoundly moving. I am so grateful to the man, to Providence for sending him, for what he tried to do. He has a saintly presence. He makes me want to do better.

But I fear we are going to need a hard man to sort things out now, a Churchill or a Cromwell to see us through. If the Left hadn't betrayed us and civilization things might have been different for everyone, especially the countless millions of Arabs and the rest whose freedom the Left has squandered in the name of a fascist utopian social experiment and for their own gain.

Looking at this I feel anger and sadness for what might have been. But I am also convinced of the redemptive power of prayer and a determined, cheerful spirit (if only I can find it again). This is a man touched by Grace, you can practically see the light shining from him. If history is yet to be written in English, he will be remembered as one of the greatest of us.
