Shaving face
Did Obama hand-pick General Petraeus to lose the Afghan war; using Petraeus' reputation as a beard (forgive me) meant to save face?
First news of an unpromising "clarification" of new, yet more restrictive rules of engagement (it turns out forces are allowed to return fire on "dilapidated buildings" or other "abandoned structures" after all... game changer!).
Now this order for special forces to shave their beards.
So they can look professional.
Because that's what counts when fighting alongside hill savages killing other hill savages.

"Now we look no different than the Brits or Russians before us," a dewhiskered Green Beret team leader with five Afghanistan tours told the Daily News, referring to two countries whose past wars here ended badly. "Growing a beard dramatically helps us."
Exactly like the British or Russians before them. God help us.
