Taliban democracy

Afghan parliamentary secretary Abdul Sattar Khawasi has called for the public execution of Muslim converts to Christianity.

Abdul isn't the crazy one. Converting from Islam to another religion is punishable by death under Afghan law.

140 Canadians died for this.

Afghan channel Noorin TV showed footage of men it said were reciting Christian prayers in Farsi and being baptised. The television station said the men were Afghans who had converted to Christianity thanks to the proselytising efforts of the two [Christian aid] groups. In parliament, Abdul Sattar Khawasi, a deputy of the lower house, called for Muslim converts to Christianity to be executed.

"Those Afghans that appeared in this video film should be executed in public, the house should order the attorney general and the NDS (intelligence agency) to arrest these Afghans and execute them."

Qazi Nazir Ahmad, a lawmaker from the western province of Herat, said killing a converted Muslim was "not a crime".

Not to worry. Our friend and ally President Hamid Karzai, representing not only Afghanistan but the ideals of Islam, is on the case: Norwegian Church Aid and Church World Service of the United States have been ordered to suspend operation in Afghanistan lest they pollute the Umma with their filthy charity.

Elsewhere in biting the hand that feeds you: Two Haitian groups, backed by the "activist" group Grassroots International, want farmers to burn millions in donated vegetable seeds.

This evil campaign puts politics ahead of humanity, and it is sad that charities like the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the New York Community Trust are funding Grassroots International’s perversely named “social justice” campaign.

The two groups, the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) and the National Peasant Movement of the Congress of Papay (MPMKP), argue that the hybrid seeds donated by Monsanto will somehow undermine the “food sovereignty” of Haiti.

Admittedly, I am with the activists on this one (if not for the same reasons): The more Haitian food sovereignty the better. Profitez de votre rien! Bon appetit!
