Turkey is guilty of a crime under international law
Not that it matters as no Turkish criminal will be prosecuted for this crime let alone the Turkish government held responsible for an act of war. Treason, piracy and murder are now celebrated by the Left of the Western world, this incident is no exception.
But it helps we know the truth and can speak it clearly.
(a) are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or breaching a blockade, and after prior warning they intentionally and clearly refuse to stop, or intentionally and clearly resist visit, search or capture;
Much more from the San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea at the link.
Also: Debka offers the first useful criticism I have read concerning Israel's actions, viz was the Israeli force unprepared for violent resistance?
The Border Police was bettered qualified to handle themselves against the arsenal the activists aboard the Turkish vessel used against the navy men, of firebombs, stun grenades, broken glass, slingshot, iron bars, axes and knives - and with far less risk of loss of life.
Assuming, of course, minimizing the loss of enemy lives is your paramount consideration. By contrast is my take away suggestion that next time we maximize the loss of enemy lives while minimizing anything the enemy can take away from the incident. Warn off The Rachel Corrie as a belligerent vessel entering a war zone, wait for her to reach the 20 mile limit, jam all signals then sink her with all hands. I expect there will be fewer jihadis - or their Christian slaves - willing to sacrifice themselves without the cameras rolling.

Maybe drop a D-9 from a couple of hundred feet when the crew was not looking. Honour Ms. Corrie's memory and all.
