Menace to society

An Iraqi immigrant who stabbed two doctors to death will stay in Britain as Lance Waumsley, a senior immigration judge and menace to society, has determined he would be a danger to the public.

In Iraq.

An immigration tribunal decided that Laith Alani, a paranoid schizophrenic, should not be deported to Iraq because it would breach his human rights and put people there at risk.

Alani has spent the past 19 years in a secure hospital after he killed two NHS consultants in a frenzied attack because he believed he had received a "command from Allah".

Alani's only mistake was going to the UK and not Canada; "commands from Allah" are now enshrined in Canadian law.

Elsewhere in British jurisprudence: "Police in the UK are planning to use unmanned spy drones, controversially deployed in Afghanistan, for the "routine" monitoring of antisocial motorists, protesters, agricultural thieves and fly-tippers, in a significant expansion of covert state surveillance."

Fours legs good.

Elsewhere in British policing: Anti-Semitic Anglican theology defended by the police.

At 10am on Sunday 29th November 2009, I received a visit from two policemen regarding my activities in running the Seismic Shock blog. (Does exposing a vicar’s associations with extremists make me a criminal?, I wondered initially).

A thought criminal, yes. Unfortunately, thought crime is the only crime the police have any interest in policing.
