The Best and the Brightest run amok

Michael Ledeen asks if Obama is naive.

I don't think so. I think that he rather likes tyrants and dislikes America. I think he'd like to be more powerful, I think he is trying to get control over as much of our lives as he can, so that he can put an end to the annoying tumult of our public life. As when he said (about health care) to the Congress, "Okay, you've talked enough, now it's time to do the right thing (my thing)." And he's trying to end American power in the outside world. He's saying "I'm going to stop us, before we kill again."

RTWT; it sums up my impressions nicely. This via DrewM, adding:

Given Obama's speech yesterday (and those that came before), his lack of action in support of Iranian protesters and continueed desire to engage Iran, his abandonment of our allies in eastern Europe and the shameful support of tyranny over liberty in Honduras, there's really no other conclusion to reach, is there?

Also, from the comments to Drew's post at AoSHQ:

It REALLY pains me to say this, but right now the leader of the free world isn't Obama, its Sarkozy of France.

He's the one staking out the high-profile, pro-Democracy stance.

But mad props to Czech President Václav Klaus and, of course, the matchless Bibi Netanyahu.

Related: Barack Obama's churlishness is unforgivable.

The juxtaposition on our front page this morning is striking. We carry a photograph of Acting Sgt Michael Lockett - who was killed in Helmand on Monday - receiving the Military Cross from the Queen in June, 2008. He was the 217th British soldier to die in the Afghan conflict. Alongside the picture, we read that the Prime Minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure a few minutes “face time” with President Obama after five requests for a sit-down meeting were rejected by the White House.

What are we to make of this? This country has proved, through the bravery of men like Acting Sgt Lockett, America’s staunchest ally in Afghanistan. In return, the American President treats the British Prime Minister with casual contempt.

In fairness, I would take a detour to avoid the man myself. But.

This via Rantburg whece a comment by Newc which speaks for itself.

I shall not forgive him. He can sit in hell and give pineapples to Saddam to shove up Hitlers ass.

He serves the devil, and he has lost everything with me.

Testify.

Next up from the total state - Green abortions: Obama, the left and the new eugenics. Hardly surprising, the old eugenics was drawn from the same well.

Obama science czar John Holdren stated in a college textbook that compulsory, government-mandated "green abortions" would be a constitutionally acceptable way to control population growth and prevent ecological disasters, including global warming, because a fetus was most likely not a "person" under the terms of the 14th Amendment.
...
As WND has previously reported, Holdren has argued the U.S. Constitution would permit compulsory birth control methods, including involuntary abortions, government-imposed sterilizations and laws limiting the number of children permitted to be born as steps justified under the banner of "sustainable well-being."

The 21st century Democratic party: Bringing you slavery, penury and a quivering pointed finger of rage straight at you from the 19th century Democratic party.
