We have learned in recent years to translate almost all of political life in terms of conspiracy
Writing for WorldNet Daily, Aaron Klein describes the Politburo running United States foreign policy with the State Department and National Security Council sidelined by a White House clique. I say double down and add domestic policy to the list.
The diplomatic sources identified the White House group largely controlling foreign policy as consisting of President Obama; White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel; top Obama adviser David Axelrod; and National Security Council Director Denis McDonough. Also involved are Mark Lippert, chief-of-staff of the National Security Council; U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and Jim Messina, White House liaiason to Congress.
Not incidentally related: Nine months into the fiscal year, the United States federal deficit has topped $1 trillion for the first time. Something to remember the next time we are reminded the Bush administration had "done nothing" about al Qaeda nine months into office. As of September 11, 2009, the buck stops with Obama (or the yuan, as the case may be).
