Ihe problem is not that Christopher Hitchens is an atheist. The problem is an ignorant - and annoying - apologia for Christianity.
It is guys like this who make Catholics think Protestants are intellectually retarded. No quality control.

Hey! Don't make me invoke the name of Andrew Sullivan to prove that the intellectually defective cover both sides of the West's schism.
I think Sully would win on points too since he is morally corrupt and doesn't appear to love his (heterosexual female) neighbours as himself.

I don't think the Catholics are much better off. Of the many Protestant and Catholic churches I have attended, only one (est. 1928) made an effort to teach the laity anything about biblical hermeneutics.
