Plan B
Jay Currie has it exactly right.
Prime Minister Steven Harper: Either repeal Section 13.1 of the Canadian Human Rights Act and restore our rights to freedom of speech and expression or we will do our level best to deny you a majority government. Ideally, we will send you back to the opposition benches where you belong and take our chances with Michael Ignatieff, an entirely reasonable alternative.
If s. 13 is repealed prior to an election no candidates will run, if not we do everything in our power to deny Harper his majority.
Harper seems to believe he can ignore his own Party, the vast majority of mainstream media, and the righty blogosphere with impunity.
I would like to prove him wrong.
Visit Jay Currie for details and a link (the next link, actually) to the all important party application for registration form (pdf). Jay's post has the address and further guidance.
A suggestion: If Ignatieff can live outside Canada for 30 years and lead the Liberal party I see no reason Mark Steyn could not declare residence in Calgary West and stand against Stephen Harper. Not to mention Kate McMillan; she could effectively deny the Conservatives a riding by winning a seat outright.
Distraction: Any thoughts on a party logo, Jay?
Directly related: Stephen Harper is insane and unfit to be Prime Minister.
"I'd say between every window, in every available space of the wall, at eye level, every available space has a photo of Stephen Harper."
"You've got photos of Stephen Harper, but not of previous prime ministers," she added. "Photos of Stephen Harper in different costumes, in different settings, dressed as a fireman, in Hudson Bay looking for polar bears, meeting the Dalai Lama, even the portrait of the Queen had to have Stephen Harper, but in a candid, behind her."
(hat tip to Covenant Zone via Blazing Cat Fur).
Another thought: There must be generous Liberals willing to front our nomination fees and a few incidentals. Unlike the Liberal party, we are actually in a position to bring down this government.
