This is not the Winner and Associates I thought I knew
A subdivision of one of the world's largest public relations firms has been caught "astroturfing" for Obama (most likely directly for Obama); posting partisan messages -- YouTube videos, in this case -- while posing as common citizens, i.e. the grassroots.
Rusty introduces the investigation.
Which would be fine except a) the allegations are lies spread by people who know they are lies, b) the real lie is that Obama is anything but a Chicago machine politician*, and c) these "grassroots" videos are actually ads bought and paid for by the Obama campaign and/or the DNC in violation of federal election law.
Michelle Malkin offers a handy round up of the various websites participating in the investigation.
Ace -- from whence the lede -- is hilarious and on point.
Tomorrow they will claim this was all inadvertent, etc. They'll say they did produce the ad, and sent it to Winner and Associates to, um, focus-group or something, then decided not to run it, but that dirty Winner family and its employees attempted to get it to go viral without their authorization.
Whatever.
If this is all so innocent, why are the videos being yanked even as we speak?
* Unless he is, in fact, the Antichrist.
