A sophisticated form of conspiracy theorizing

B'nai Brith recently called for a reconsideration of Canada's notorious "human rights" commissions. It seems the lesson has yet to quite sink in as the same organization is now calling for prosecution of campus protesters under the hate crimes provisions of Canada's criminal code. In describing the particulars of what was unquestionably an odious "protest" - though arguing against B'nai Brith's choice of strategy - Covenant Zone offers an important insight regarding the problem of campus antisemitism.

The colonization of our universities by hateful antisemites and conspiracy theorists - much teaching in the humanities today is a sophisticated form of conspiracy theorizing where human reality is wrongly presumed to be constructed by one or another form of the will to power - is a tragedy of great proportions. But in the face of this calamity we cannot bow to our emotions to strike back in ways that might appeal to our sense of injustice, or our own desire to practice a will to power, but not to our pragmatic reason.

A "sophisticated form of conspiracy theorizing" is exactly right. Small wonder generations of students granted degrees under this system remain catastrophically ignorant of history, including and especially their own, incapable of making basic moral distinctions and inferring consequent moral obligations, and susceptible to the side-show carny science of the global warmenists. The great advantage of conspiracy theory over study is, of course, the fact it requires no effort at all to pretend to live in a world where the Jews, the Masons, the Catholics or the Cthulhu cultists are to blame for everything that goes wrong and for any injustice whether real or imagined. Study, the application of reason and obeying the call of duty all take work.
