What is it with directors, they always want to give it the heavy-handed gothic treatment when it's really about horny medieval monks.

I admire the visuals while deploring the contextual tone-deafness.

My first impulse was to go with the Therion cover; it is objectively better but I confess I was swayed by the Highland sets and torches.

Wow. Therion is the shizznit. Kept the pacing and spirit of the original, no question. Much, much better.

I am a man of simple tastes. I like my music videos to make sense in the context of the music. Failing that, they should have wailing guitars and a hot woman with gigantic 80s hair rolling around on the hood of a car.

Speaking of which, I was recently introduced to the Great Kat oeuvre; how I missed her before is beyond me.
