Breathtaking, but still fictional....
this was real. Pegasus Bridge of course being key. Elements of the Canadian 3rd Division advancing through Gray-sur-mer into contact with the German 736th Inf Reg being interesting.
Of course the Mulberry harbors are awesome in their scale and accomplishment.

Cool all around.
At a Churchill Conference (Portsmouth 2004), I met Geoff Barkaway (now deceased) who piloted one of the gliders into Pegasus Bridge. He received the Destinguished Flying Medal and had a career working with the London Underground. One of the most delightful speakers I've ever heard.
