Khufu revisited

HoudinPyramid.jpg

Architect Jean-Pierre Houdin presents yet another tortuous theory to address the "mystery" of the construction of the Pyramid of Khufu. Baroque, obtuse and French; and that is just the modeling software used to present it. This is not archaeology but an ad for Dassault Systèmes' Real-Time 3D.

Still, I like the grooved system for handling corners.

From the ancient Greeks to today's techno-geeks, many have asked this question: How was something this huge built with such precision? The entire 13-acre pile of limestone blocks, most weighing more than 2 tons, has sides no more than 8 inches out of alignment, says archaeologist John Romer, author of The Great Pyramid: Ancient Egypt Revisited, released in April. Its interior shafts, some hundreds of feet long, vary less than a few inches from being perfectly straight.

Now French architect Jean-Pierre Houdin has reopened this conversation with a controversial proposal that the giant tomb of the pharaoh Khufu (Cheops to the Greeks), who reigned from about 2589 B.C. to 2566 B.C., was built from the inside out with the use of internal ramps.

More recent fantasy history of the region may be unearthed at the BBC. A documentary series on the Six Day War contends Israel had planned the conflict for years, had no grounds for a "preemptive strike" and details "dirty tricks" by the Israelis and biased Jew* journalists "speaking with the tongue of the Prophets". The piece systematically distorts the fact of Arab fascism and particularly as this was demonstrated in the three weeks leading up to the war. War crimes? The Jews, including loving descriptions of supposed murder of prisoners of war and, inevitably, the attack on USS Liberty. Soviet fascism hardly rates a mention, suffering civilians universally Arab and the war itself fought with "Palestine", a country which did not exist.

This is sickening stuff. Lies. Blood libel. Treason. The suicide of civilization. No guesses what some future specialist in whatever passes for archaeology in the Thousand Year Umma will have to say about the remains of Broadcasting House. Clearly the place is now occupied, if not built, by aliens.

* I say "Jew" rather than "Jewish" intentionally. The BBC harps on about Zionism and religious extremism - the word Islam does not appear once - but the slippage between race and religion is the same for the BBC as it was for the Nazis; Godwin's Law be damned.

I like a good conspiracy theory, just because I like to think that if people never question the history they are taught in schools, things like, of, say, a flat earth, will never be questions, however... The people that claim that we mere humans could not construct the pyramids with the materials available for engineering to the ancient egyptian are just looking for fairies in the garden.

A string is flat and straight when pulled taut. Thats the basics of engineering that one needs know to construct anything.

those neatly arranged piles of stone blocks, or whatever, to the right in the picture look like a monmument to a computer keyboard...

Thanks for letting me know. On the west coast the BBC America news starts at 3:00 am. I'm a middle-aged single guy...so I watch. It's terrible. Yet I sent the following message...

"Dear Sirs,

"I watch your BBC America progam on the West coast.

"But this article "http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/documentary_archive/6676265.stm" is so blatantly anti-Semitic that I am considering reporting your broadcast to the State Department in order to determine whether or not your broadcasts are acceptable within U.S. law.

"I was brought up thinking that your country and mine were of a similiar bent. Now I'm thinking you're just bent."

Why do lefties hate us?

OG: The thing is that the British Government, well Foreign Office excepted, is not at all anti-Israel. The trouble is that Arabs/Muslims have successfully infiltrated the BBC and have turned it into an al-Jazz light.

While it is a certainty the islamists are making their way into government and the media, I believe the larger problem by far are our own traitors and opportunists. There are so many people on the left whose racism lead them to believe brown people do not and will never have the power to threaten smug white strongholds in Islington, the Annex or Manhattan. They feel free to make common cause with islamists on the same grounds they did with any other third world revolutionaries in the past and any raped, murdered and mutilated amongst their captive populations are so much grist for the dialectical mill (for the ones with a Hegelian bent) or scoring points at cocktail parties (for the rest).

I saw a T-shirt the other day with a picture of Che Guevara and the words "I have no idea who this is". It might as well have been a picture of bin Laden.
