Fictional religions

The gnomes of Wikipedia have thoughtfully provided a list of fictional religions. A possible class project: Adopt one of these as your own and live by its tenets for, say, a week. For example, this might be the season to keep what you kill. Hilarity ensues!

Hmm.. this seems applicable:

The Church of Gort - Church for the worship of androids, cyborgs and A.I.'s

I don't hold with that new-fangled worship. No, it's the Church of the Starry Wisdom for me; the old, old time religion.

Ahh.. you know not of my Lovecraft obsession do you. I haven't put up the page called Dark Things that I have been working on yet, but it is 75% HPL. On our honeymoon we went to new england, but I picked Providence for one of our stops so I could visit his grave and all the places in town where he obtained his ideas for tales. In fact, I shall blog about that today.

I dunno. The Cult Mechanicus always intrigued me - I like the iconography of course, but I think the compelling thing is what it might be like to actually be a mid-to-low ranking member of it. Its potentially just so horrifyingly Kafka-esque...

It's a good thing Crom wasn't listed. For Crom is real, a stern and unforgiving god that answers no prayers. I do not pray to Him, I have no tongue for it. But He has given me strength in my sword arm and fire in my heart. If I die, I have to go before him, and he will ask me, "What is the riddle of steel?" If I don't know it, he will cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me. That's Crom, strong on his mountain!

And if you do not believe in him, then to hell with you!

Steel is weak!

Crom doesn't care if his name is on the list.

Yeah there are quite a few bloggers with a bit of a Lovecraft thing...me being one of them. Not only that but as the Flea knows I come from the Lovecraft school of writing doing almost daily tales of the Mythos.
