This gadget claims there are only 480 people in the United States with the last name Packwood (via Harry's Place).

It's pretty inaccurate. Lots o' people I know are listed as "no one by that name."

If there were only 480 Packwoods in the States I would be much more closely related to Uncle Bob in Oregon than I suspect is the case.
On an unrelated note: I have just installed Firefox 2.0 and its spell-check is underlining my typos. Hellaneat!
