Suits me fine
James Wolcott asks a seemingly reasonable question of liberal warhawks (via Instapundit).
While you, sir, have made common cause with Pat Buchanan, the British National Party and Hizb ut-Tahrir. There are plenty of issues on which I disagree with President Bush, quite strenuously on most "social" issues, but I would still be happy to shake his hand. I cannot say the same for any of the ideological company Wolcott keeps. But that is the difference between siding with a democratic and representative government, even and especially one espousing policies with which we disagree, and marching in the streets in defense of fascism.
My left is the left of Christopher Hitchens, Irshad Manji and the shade of George Orwell. The company suits me fine.
More at Harry's Place.
Update: Classical Values points out "Wolcott has once again provided some much needed humor."
