Decapitation strategy

Strategic voting takes on a more sinister/cool cast with the Liberal Democrat "decapitation" strategy aimed at unseating top Tories. It is interesting that after ten years of Labour government that people still harbour such animosity toward the Conservatives. Canadian memories of Brian Mulroney have proven to be as deep-seated.

"Labour supporters in those seats would be better off throwing in their lots with the Liberal Democrats and ending up with a Liberal Democrat MP," (Lib Dem chief executive) Lord Rennard said. He added: "Every Labour voter in Folkestone and Hythe, if they put their vote behind the Liberal Democrats, would actually see the Conservative leader defeated on May 5."
