After repeated suggestions by Flea commenters I have belatedly picked up a disc by QNTAL, a more Dead Can Dance than thou goth outfit. If "Illuminate" is indicative I will be looking for more.

If you can't figure out what Qntal means, don't feel bad - the band has no idea either. The name came to the singer in a dream.

Along the way I also picked up Irfan who are even more medievalish. Time to start plotting my connections to modern day Templar/Cathar/Albigensian conspiracies... Next on my shopping list: "The Vast Astonishment" by Pinknruby.

QNTAL is impressive but overshadowed for the moment as I listen to Irfan over and over again. If I had the money to bankroll a television series based on The King in Yellow I would choose Irfan for the soundtrack.
