Some time back I signed up to beta test an on-line game coming out this spring. I had quite forgotten the whole endeavour until I received an email from the company a couple days ago. Apparently, folks will be offered "keys" to register and "stress test" the system for capacity and, while I am a big loser and this does not apply to me, I have the lucky opportunity to buy an advance copy of the game at which point I would be allowed to help them test their system too. How exciting! This is my reply.

Dear ****** Online,

If you are not going to ask me to beta test your game it is a bit much to dangle these keys in front of me then make it clear I will not be offered one but can pay for the golden opportunity to make your product work for you.
