Autumn colours

SondraK asked for fall photoblogging. John replied with pictures of Fort Leavenworth while George sent Knowledge Is Power some images of fall in Idaho. Fall colours from Toronto are muted with only the sumac turning red so far. Here is the Ontario Red Ensign flying at Casa Loma to be going on with.

Isn't that a lovely flag with the autumn leaves. I have clued to the fact of the maple leaves but never before to the fact that they were golden, captured in their October hue.

I've always meant to ask this since the last time I was in TO, exactly what is this Casa Loma place anyway?

Isn't it one man's folly like Boldt Castle in the Thousand Islands?

"One man's folly" is right on the money. It was built in the 1920's by a newsprint magnate who was dead set on building a home fit for the visit of the King-Emperor, the which august personage he kept expecting to call one day. He kept on building it, until his fortune was exhausted, and it was taken over by the city. Still isn't entirely finished, as I understand it...
