Letters to America
I open this post to make a list of links for this September 11, 2004.
"Letter from America", Harry's Place (via InstaPundit "a must-read").
"Remembering S11", Chrenkoff argues it will be a long war "but there is no other option."
"An attack against us, too", Daimnation! reports a poll showing "a majority of Canadians do not see their country as a potential terror target." A majority of Canadians are fools. This country is broken. It will take some work to fix it.
"9/11", Dean Esmay is still angry.
"About That Day", The Dissident Frogman was phoned by his mother.
"When I was a kid I was terrified of the End of the World.", James Lileks is now "resigned, in advance, to the loss of an American city by a nuclear weapon." I believe his fear is entirely justified (an encore link from InstaPundit).
"September 11 (III)", ˇNo Pasarán! asks "What do you call Europeans who do not sneer at Uncle Sam?"
"September 11 Remembered", Glenn Reynolds quotes Lee Harris, saying, "Forgetfulness occurs when those who have been long inured to civilized order can no longer remember a time in which they had to wonder whether their crops would grow to maturity without being stolen or their children sold into slavery by a victorious foe."
"Today", Rocket Jones is not getting over it or moving on.
"Oderint dum metuant...", The Tiger in Winter invokes Caligula (hat tip to Lucius Accius). Good choice.
"9/11: Risin' Up From The Ashes...", Winds of Change offers links on a variety of aspects of the day and its consequences.
