San Marino

SanMarino.jpg

The Flea rattles its ghostly chains in glee at a visitor from San Marino. You have to love a country whose official website is half-Italian, half-English. Well, close to English anyway. An attractive flag and a castle that kicks ass and takes names. The government of San Marino should be advised the Flea stands ready for any offers of citizenship or professorial sinecures. I am certain I could make a significant contribution to the International Centre for Semiotic and Cognitive Studies. Seriously.

I still remember the satisfaction I felt when I realized that tiny states like San Marino, Andorra, Leichtenstein still existed. I had thought that they were fictions (ie. The Mouse that Roared, and so forth)
San Marino tops them all, though.

Siente a me Flea: Nun ce sta niente 'a fá...

Seriously, pictures cannot do justice to La Reppublica San Marino. I was 5 the first time I went there and swore I would live in the castle when I grew up. The adults laughed at me. They are all dead now.

The fact that they're all dead is just a coincidence. Really.

Oh, admit it, Rue. That castle affected you very deeply...you're trying to emulate the Renaissance princes a bit _too_ closely, aren't you? A little bit of poison in the wine goes a long way...:)

Horrors of all horrors, I spelled 'repubblica' wrong!

Poison in the wine is detectable, Demetrius.... So I hear.

That you didn't say anything about the banking laws intrigues me even more....
