Wasabi

Clearly, I have this stuff on the brain. I must have been sleep-blogging or something when I wrote about Blade: Trinity because I have a vivid memory of Jean Reno as Dracula back to back with Blade in a poster. Go figure. First up in my Luc Besson film festival is Wasabi, "quite possibly the greatest French-language, English-subtitled, Japanese action-comedy of all time." Besson's movies have a cartoonish quality and there is something extraordinarily appealing about Reno's self-effacing ass-kickery.

Reno was huge in my favorite flick of all time: Ronin.
Whenever the plot requires him to "get stuff" he is sure to be on form.

"Ronin" was a terrific movie, one of my favourites too. And Jean Reno is fantastic whenever he's playing a world-weary but good-natured spy/assassin/etc.

For some reason I read 'Jean Reno' as 'Janet Reno'.

Janet Reno in Blade: Trinity works for me.
