Grilled Sarlacc

Ok, a database of Star Wars pics might be a useful resource. Still, given the name of the site I was disappointed not to find instructions for putting one of these babies on the grill. Any tips for sarlacc marinade, Anthony?

(And speaking of sucking monsters...)

And then... I should make that last link more explicit... Visit the Meatriarchy and support Don Cherry for Greatest Canadian!

HMMM two ways to attack this problem.

First of all I have never heard of this creature before, but then again I haven't seen any Star Wars movies either.

Now it strikes me that this creature's flesh might be similar to a squid since it has tentacles.

In that case a marinade used on octopus and squid might be appropriate.

Remember a marinade really only works on the surface and penetrates only a little bit into the meat so if you have something really thick a marinade isn't going to do it.

You could try injecting a marinade into it but that can be tricky.

Perhaps the meat is like brisket - lots of connective tissue and collagen and the like.

In that case a slow smoking to the tune of 12-18 hours should do the trick.

Smoked sarlacc! This is * so * the way to go.
