Harp of Ur

Three harps (lyres, actually) were recovered from a 1929 archaeological investigation of the city of Ur. Now an enthusiast is orchestrating the creation of a playable replica of these ancient instruments.

Andy Lowings, 52, from Cambridgeshire, wants the replica instrument to be as close to the 4,750 year-old original as possible, even down to the source of the wood. His £25,000 project caught the imagination of a nearby RAF squadron who agreed to collect two pieces of cedar wood from Basra and presented it to Mr Lowings on Wednesday. The musical director of the Stamford Harp Festival was moved to act last April when the harp's remains were among antiquities destroyed by thieves in Baghdad's main museum.

Hi Thanks for putting up this article... we now have even newer news inthat the finished wooded instrument has been completed and now it is undergoing decoration in stone and shell and the installlation of the Gold Bullls head by West Dean College.
It will certainly be a fine Work of Art now.
Stand by for the first perfomance at the STAMFORD HARP FESTIVAL August 29th 2004

I would like to make it clear that the above claim by Andy is not true. West Dean College is NOT doing the "decoration in stone and shell" as claimed by Andy, and if you would like to see the gilding and the so called art work done by West Dean then just have a look at this link http://www.arabesco.co.uk/lyre/examples.htm

Hi,
This man is not saying this, I think.

In English, a double "AND" expresses two sub-clauses.
Quite different ideas here are mooted..one, gold-work and another shell work
.....And I`m sure he never intended this anyway.

Actions speaks louder than words, the above is not the first or last of similar claims you made. First you took Mr Norbert Maier’s idea and credited it to yourself, and now you claim you got it from the “Chicago museum”. Later on, you put people on your so called committee without their knowledge or them knowing anything about the existence of your so called committee. The list of your so called claims are simply too long to list here. Try to explain that with your double "AND" Mr Andy Lowings.

Oh by the way, maybe you should learn how to spell first before commenting on grammar, “we now have even newer news ""inthat"" the finished wooded instrument has been completed and now it is undergoing decoration in stone and shell and the ""installlation"" of the Gold ""Bullls"" head by West Dean College.
It will certainly be a fine Work of Art now.”
