Hoth and home

Hoth.jpg

The Flea's spectral antennae have been wiggling in search of employment and adventure these last several months. Academic job applications are a cross between a complex, expensive lottery ticket and a reality tv ordeal so it has been fun, fun and more fun at Flea Mansions. Today's weather reminds me the process is all worth it.

Where be the Flea looking?

Perhaps Herr Flee should go to U Tennessee Knoxville and change his name to 'InstaFlea'...

Or UCLA and 'GhostConspiracy'...

the mind boggles.

InstaFlea! I like the sound of that. Actually, I am curious if potential employers have taken to Googling candidates as a matter of course and am consequently curious if posts like this turn up on their radar... Consequently, I am not going to be too specific about my prospects in quite so public a context just yet. I can say I have found the perfect job and have fingers and toes crossed for the future.

Dear Nick-

Just don't cut open a bantha and climb inside. The smell is awful.

Oh, no wait a minute. That thing isn't a bantha. Banthas live on Tatooine and are ridden by sandpeople. What is that creature in the photo called, for 150 points?

I just found it. It's called a tauntaun.

Whew.

My geek cred is still intact.

No fair! I was about to dazzle you with my exobiological lore.

Oh, and by the way-

UGA is desperate for grad students who can teach in Comp. Lit, English, and a few other fields.

Athens is a gorgeous, super-friendly, lovely place to live with mild winters.

Just a thought.

Hmm. I checked their job site after your email last week but their frames were not working or something to that effect... I should have another look. Georgia sounds just peachy to me.

Georgia?
I guess the blog would then be 'Flea Rumbles' then... hosted by Ghostman...?
