I am a Windoze user myself

The Emperor reflects on Apple users in response to a Bleat.

I'm a Windoze user, and you'll find me bitching, kvetching and p***ing all over the place over the bugs, user-unfriendliness and sheer nerve of Bill Gate$ when he charges us out the wazoo to be beta-testers for his unfinished crap, but you'll never EVER find a devotee of Jobs' brainchild uttering as much as a peep about the Holy Grail of Mac, no matter what. It'd be sacrilege, heresy and surely a one-way ticket to OS Hell to do so, and there is no END to the excuses that Mac users will come up with to explain away the flaws and failings of their systems.

Lack of available software? "But ours is so much better, and who NEEDS choice anyway? Apple knows what's best for us."

And then... I notice the Emperor has included a public service announcement important to the dietary needs of your whole family and the hard-working farmers of the Empire.

Technically, MacOS X is unquestionably superior to Windows XP - but that doesn't matter a whole lot to the average user.

I run Linux and Windows and MacOS. They all suck in their various ways. Such is the nature of software.

As a recent switcher I'm willing to put up with the lack of software for the ease of use and astounding integration.

My next PC will almost certainly be a Powermac G5, hopefully with dual 3GHz processors and a 23" Apple Cinema display. Mmmmmm.

Its funny how Winbloze users always say that Mac fans are too devoted and unquestioning. As a Mac user, journalist and user of Gameranger.com; I can tell you a lot of Mac users of all kinds complain about the daftness of Apple and its products.

OSX is a superior OS and I think anyone who can use a Mac is daft not to. However most people want the cheapest thing that gets it done...that is why PCs are so popular.

Of course, I know quite a few people, including this flat, that have one of each. A Mac to do useful things on (and play a few games) and a PC for the latest und greatest games.
