Huh? Donnie Darko made the list. I liked that movie. I got the DVD for the collection, but it was oddy and disjointed.

Come to think of it, The Thirteenth Warrior probably deserves to make it to such a list.

Well, if you've not seen The Seven Samurai (which is the English title of #8, and my apologies if you already knew that), then I'd recommend that one.

If you have seen it, though, I'd go for #40 (Once Upon A Time In The West, and again my apologies if you already knew that). For my money, that one's worth it just to see Henry Fonda, of all people, play one of the best villains ever.

Hmm... think I'll stop there. I'm just enough of a movie geek to be able to go on all day with that list (having seen, for good or ill, about 90+ of the 100), and you probably want a wider variety of opinion. :)

My God, you simply MUST see Dr. Strangelove. That movie is completely CLASSIC in every way and contains stellar performances from Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers and George C. Scott. Oh yeah, and Peter Sellers.

Yeah, I'd definitely go for the great political double feature of "Strangelove" and the "Manchurian Candidate," and follow it up with the enormously entertaining "Finding Nemo" as a happy chaser.

Still love the site, visit it every chance I get. Great stuff.

Definitely see "Dr. Strangelove", Nick. George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden and Slim Pickens do a terrific job in that movie. I'm not a Peter Sellers fan at all, but he does a respectable job in a variety of roles. Also, see if you can spot a very young James Earl Jones in there -- that was his very first film role.

I liked "The Manchurian Canadidate", but it feels a little dated now. It's worth watching, but I don't place it in the same class as Strangelove. Too melodramatic, and not enough suspense.

And while you're at it, Spirited Away is a truly wonderful film. It's actually not my favourite film by Miyazaki, but it is one of his best.

Wow, what a list. Hmmmm... Momento is an interesting and intense film, my daughter had to do a paper on it for one of her theater classes. 12 Angry Men has been on quite a bit recently on Turner Classic Movies (I know, US network), and it's very powerful. Duck Soup is just plain crazy fun.
