Gibraltar
The Flea rattles its ghostly chains in gleeful welcome to a visitor from Gibraltar. Note how this BBC article discusses the history of Gibraltar and efforts at "decolonization" without mentioning the purported decolonizers were the then fascist government of Spain. I will not hold my breath waiting for Spain to offer up its own north African colonies possessions to any "decolonization" process.
For the record, here is a passage from the Preamble to Gibraltar's constitution of 1969.
‘Whereas Gibraltar is part of Her Majesty’s dominions and Her Majesty’s Government have given assurances to the people of Gibraltar that Gibraltar will remain part of Her Majesty’s dominions unless and until an Act of Parliament otherwise provides, and furthermore that Her Majesty’s Government will never enter into arrangements under which the people of Gibraltar would pass under the sovereignty of another state against their freely and democratically expressed wishes’.
Quite right.
