Nick Fury

Ok, whose bright idea was this?
Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, the 1998 made-for-television movie based on the Marvel Comics character, returns to television for the first time on Saturday night july 13. The movie -- which premiered on Fox on May 26, 1998 -- starred David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury

Mercifully, I never saw the thing.
On the other hand, the still photo doesn't look all that bad.
Oh ... wait ... read the link.
My God, I think I did see it. And blotted it from my memory.
Oh my.

I think what scared me the most about this is that, as you say, the photo does not look at that bad. I guess this is from the bad old days when Marvel had to shake a tin cup to get these stories told in film at all and the idea of signing a name... any name... was a good idea.
Be it proposed that nothing could be worse than the television Dr. Strange so how bad could this be. Pretty bad. Oh yes.

Nick Fury is the oddest Marvel character being a WWII hero in every battle ever held apparently - in a very UK boys thrilling stories annual style - then resurrected as a James Bond in the 60's, as depicted in this movie. I think I still have copies of both eras of his life. I'd rather have a movie about him in WWII.

I am really enjoying the version of Nick Fury presented in the Ultimates and Ultimate Six. The Captain America story from the first issue of Ultimates is probably the best comic I have ever read.

Oh, far worse things have been done to Marvel heroes than Dr. Strange. The Capt. America TV movie comes to mind. Not to mention the Incredible Hulk TV movie with Daredevil and Thor crossing-over.
[Shudders]
Dr. Strange was relatively benign in comparison.

Fair enough. It's just that Dr. Strange is, bar none, my favourite comic character and is in a nose-to-nose finish with any fictional character in any genre. It is difficult to say what Marvel could have done to satisfy me but what they produced was an abomination. I would still give rubies to have the prop Agamotto ring from the show.

Nick Fury of Sheild needs to be up dated. Over the last 10 and half years of reading Nick Fury Agent of Sheild I have noticed the same old faces Dumb-Dumb, Val, Gaffer, Gabe Jones ect, ect. And also why does Marvel has to mess up a good story line after the first five to seven issues? I Iike Network Nina she should have been kept. The Fury Max issue was good but in some places it kind of draged a little when it came to the sex secenes why did they cover up Nicky? Also they should sho more of Wendell thats another new addition Marvel should keep and add if they should bring back Sheild. Including his long lost son but what needs to be done is that he should experance the loss of Val kill her off! over the last two decades she had not changed not one bit her the way she dresses come on at this day and age? The only the major change in her was her hair style Beehives are a thing of the past there so 20th Century! Also Gabe, Dumb-Dumb, Clay Quatermain, and the Gaffer I feel there time has come up grade them or retire them! Let Nick Fury go through some major changes let him find out what is life is like out side of Sheild this is the 21st Century
Get a life Nick Fury
Back SHEILD!

I have posted a notice about Nick Fury needing changes. Well he still dose any way after reading Fury in the Marvel Max issues there was some changes many for the worse that black suit he wore to work each day added to his sad, sad, very sad days a Director in the new Shield. That out fit makes him looks like a under taker working in a Funeral Home! Can you picture him selling coffins or getting some poor SOB ready for the after life? The up graded Nick Fury looked more like an undertaker. In the recent pictures of him which were posted on the Internet Webb pages there was some justice done to him in 1602 he did have the look and the feel of being decked out to be a man for all seasons and it was a total surprise that he did smile. For a change! But as for that black suit no way.
So Nicky get out of that black suit you don't look good in basic black!
