Christmas Island

The Flea makes cheerful night-noises on the moor in welcome to a visitor from Christmas Island. All these islands of the world continue to amaze me. Flying Fish Cove must be the best name for a capital city anywhere. Another place to add to my list of places to visit (and another reason to break out the garlic butter).

An Australian external territory, claimed from Britain in 1958. It was discovered on Christmas Day, 1643, by Captain William Minors of the British East India Company, thus the name.

The Flea makes cheerful night-noises on the moor...

LOL!

Whatever happened to rattling your ghostly chains in glee? This cheerful night-noises business sounds far creepier...

Those chains are getting dusty thanks to giving thirteen hours of lectures a week lately... At least it is cheerful on the moor!

Also, if you think that's creepy I probably shouldn't mention I am playing Celine Dion belting out "River Deep-Mountain High" over and over again this morning.

When are you going to write about Civic Holiday Island? It is, I recall, about half way between Easter Island and Christmas Island.

Mmm. Civic Holiday Island. It is a shame there are no islands in the Februaries.
