Dark Dungeons

A tract warns of the perils of Mazes and Mons... ahh... Dungeons and Dragons. The spirit of Satan is at work! Now, pull my finger.

Which spell did you cast, Debbie?

I used the mind bondage spell on my father. He was trying to stop me from playing D&D.

What was the result?

He just bought me $200.00 worth of new D&D figures and manuals. It was great!

And then... ***Dave has a Dark Dungeons news round-up.

I remember coming across these things when I was in college (graduated 1982). It's nice to see them still around! They are an absolute hoot!

Those are great. White Wolf put one out at GenCon in 2002 about their (at-the-time) forthcoming game. It was hilarious.

Ah, yes. "Dark Dungeons." A true classic in the field.

But have you seen the MST3K version yet?

Alas, the MST3K link seems to open to a dead page.

I'd like to see the negative comments about JRRT and CS Lewis. They were, what? Christians? Writing about Christians? Oh yes, real devil worshippes those Oxford dons!!!

The MST3K page just opened up for me fine. Hrm.

Jack Chick's objections to both Lewis and Tolkien are:

a. They are either Catholic or Anglo-Catholic, and thus worshippers of idols, the Anti-Christ Pope, and nasty stuff like that.

b. They write about magic and stuff like that, which is obviously unbiblical and Satanic and nasty stuff like that.

Y'see, there are "Christians," and then there are True Christians ...
