Warning: cape will not enable user to fly
Superman's cape was up for auction:
When Superman donned his red cape in the 1950s, he ran faster than a speeding bullet and was able to leap tall buildings with a single bound, but not even he could have known that his S-emblazoned outfit might fetch $150,000 at auction.
Profiles in History did not quite manage that. The cape was a bargain at US$129,800.
And then... Batman and Superman team up in a new comic series. And in breaking news: Batman can still kick Superman's butt all the way from Gotham back to Metropolis.
