The "most dynamic and violent animated version" of the Spiderman legend is to premiere tonight on MTV. But will the Flea see it? Noooooo! Because I am in Canada. I am not worthy of MTV.

MTV offers a fresh look at one of the coolest superheroes ever to climb into a pair of tights.

Hmm. Time for Kirsten Dunst Week at the Flea™. Sam Raimi's film should be credited with reinvigorating the friendly neighbourhood legend and inspiring the new series. The animation looks stunning and is backed-up by an evocative techno-theme. Peter Parker was an inspiration for the young Flea in so many ways. I am happy to see this new Spiderman is not only a remake of the camp '60s original but a fresh interpretation of the myth.

Speaking of myths: the Chaos Overlord believes he has proof Superman could take Batman in a fight. This is not over Chaos Overlord! Oh no, this is not over.

Bring it on, tough guy! I'm sure you'll prove me wrong, EH???

Batman is my second favourite character after Spider-Man but hey, as much as I like him I have to admit that Superman would probably beat him. The guy can move plants for God's sake.

Now I realize in The Dark Knight Returns Batman and Green Arrow did "beat" Superman but he was weakened after having a nuclear warhead explode right next to him.

Oh God it felt good to geek out like that just now :-)

Doh! I meant "move planets"

Don't forget that Superman actually thinks that Batman can take him. I forget the issue, but Superman gave Batman the Kryptonite ring that Lex Luther once wore just in case he (Superman) went rogue.

Back over Memorial Day weekend ABC Family Channel had a Spidey marathon. There was old 80s Spidey, really old 60s Spidey, and new 21st Century Spidey. Fun, fun, fun. It's the only time I've watched that channel for three hours straight.
