Spike TV
Risking lawsuits from diminuitive American directors is only part of the Flea's mandate (via the Chaos Overlord). Spike Lee may win his absurd claim his own-brand has been diminished by Spike TV leaving us stuck with the less dramatically named New TNN. Flea-readers north of the border should be so lucky. Canadian broadcast regulations hand power to an unelected body of guardians for the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice called the CRTC. A complaint has reportedly been made to the CRTC by the operators of a digital "men's" channel nobody has heard of who are concerned the rebranded TNN impinges on their state-sanctioned monopoly on "men's" television. The vision of men's programming presented by Canadian digital television is a spectre so feeble I am loathe to contemplate it.
And think of what we will lose should the New TNN be kicked off Canadian television. Day long Friday the 13th film festivals and non-stop Next Generation Star Trek are only the beginning. Readers of Mondo Sismondo might have the impression of sober society and media commentary but the Flea has it on excellent authority MS's author is a fan of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge.

You make it sound like you hate TNN for being a men's programming channel. Are you sexist? Think about the other two "Women's Programming" Channel's "Lifetime' or "WE" I think it's only fair that men get a little respect too. And I think TNN is a **** of a lot better than the complete **** that's floating on television nowaday's. TNN has also just won the right to name their channel SPIKE TV so GO TNN!! The last refuge for decent programming!

Wow, you have completely misread this entry. I think Spike TV is the best channel on Canadian cable. My only worry was that Canadian regulators would axe it for being too interesting.

You really do make it sound like you hate TNN Entirely. It's not their fault Spike Lee is a complete self-centered jerk-off. I really like the idea of an all men's channel and I support them all the way, we women have too much respect nowadays to where it's unfair to everybody else. And don't bash TNN just because they have Friday the 13th or Star Trek as it's a WHOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLEEEEEE lot better than whats on tv now hmm, too much reality and society crap too much when I wanna show movies I'm gonna show I know what you did last summer, Bride of Chucky, Urban Legend just complete hollywood garbage *Ahem Coughs* USA Network Ahem* stuff that if we wanna watch then go to HBO or Blockbuster since they invade television and blockbuster anyway.
