The next James Bond
Clive Owen should, in the Raging Kraut's humble opinion, be the next James Bond. The Flea could not agree more. I had the same thought while watching The Croupier. Other reasonable candidates include Ewan McGregor, Hugh Jackman or Christian Bale. And before you point out Ewan McGregor might have to stand on a box to do the part allow me to run this horrific two-word scenario by you: Tom Cruise. Besides, McGregor would be the first Scot to play the part for some time.
I had not realized those BMW short-films were available on DVD. Yet another thing on the list of things to buy.

Your other candidates are reasonable, yet not as good.
McGregor gets points added for being Scottish, but points subtracted for being a totally boring Obi-Wan...

i think Ewan McGregor should be the next bond, he got the bond look which hugh jackman and the others do not. -)

I’m a huge Bond fan and there has only been one true Bond and that was Sean Connery. I think most Bond fan’s would agree. So as a Bond fan, any actor that is chosen to take over the role will be disappointing to me. I guess I want to see Sean Connery playing the role and I know he is to old now but they can replace him with only one actor that I would swear looks just like him and he’s a good actor and the right age. He is also a Scotsmen just like Sean. The only person in the world that can successfully pull of the role is Adrian Paul from the TV series Highlander. Anybody else will be nothing but a disappointment and I believe will fail in the role just like Timothy Dalton did. I guarantee that the Bond industry will be even more successful than with Pierce Brosnan, if they put Adrian Paul in the role. If you don’t believe Adrian Paul is the young Sean Connery, just go to his web page (http://www.adrianpaul.net/) and the first picture that comes up will shock you, how much they look alike.

I think Ewan McGregor would be the perfect choice to pursue the next James Bond for a few obvious reasons. He's Scottish, and suave. He is charming and very dapper. He has the talent and potential to be the best James Bond since Sean Connery. A perfect example is one of his recent performances along side Renee Zellweger in the, Down With Love.

Adrian Paul should be the next James Bond he would bring the most talent and charm since Sean Connery .Claire

The next James Bond should definitely be played by Gerard Butler as he has the perfect look and natural Scottish accept for the part. Wasn't James Bond originally Scottish anyway?! I think the filmakers of the next Bond flick should stay away from recruting "trendy" actors to portray Bond, such as Orlando Bloom and stick to more talented, rising up and comers like, Gerard Butler who, I believe would be perfect for the part.

Next James Bond should be Adrian Paul! He's handsome, debonair, talanted and can carry that role off just as convincingly as Sean Connery did!

I agree 100% with "M.C." (above) that Gerard Butler would be an excellent selection for Bond. He's gorgeous, has the rugged, athletic build to pull off the part, and has proven himself as leading man quality in several released films. He's the lead in two upcoming films later this year, so clearly his directors know he continues to appeal to the public as a convincing actor and man's man.

I agree --The Next James Bond should be Adrian Paul!

Adrián Paul, is talented, physically appropriate and also British actor. It is Bond there is not another.
Posted by: Silvia at August 9, 2004 04:24 PM
Adrian Paul should be the next James Bond he is not caught up in the Highlander series anymore! He would be an excellant actor to play the part. He has a very charming appearance and could pull off the role very nicely!

Definitely Gerard Butler.

Please!!!!! Adrian Paul can be the best bond after Connery and Brosnan, he has the age to do the role.
Adrian Paul most be the choice!!!!!

I am a huge Bond fan and will not go see them unless it is Adrian Paul. This guy is like a twin of Connery. They should do a cameo of Connery in the film with Adrian as the new 007.
Posted by: Jhood at September 5, 2004 09:12 PM
Adrian Paul is the absolute perfect choice in my opinion, and may make the best bond ever. No other contender out there has such a total package for the part, looks, athletic build, martial arts and dance background, the accent, you name it.

The only one who could become the next
James Bond is ADRIAN PAUL !
He's perfect for the part...handsome,romantic, athletic, great with a sword, fantastic accent..
he's the kind of man that men AND women
would like as James Bond!
No one else could come close to him as the new James Bond.

I believe Ewan McGregor would be better than Adrian Paul, but I like Pierce better than Sean as James Bond, so...

Paul, Adrian Paul. There can be only one... James Bond and he is Sean Connery, but if it has to be anyone else, it's Adrian Paul. I have to agree with another post. I will not even entertain spending a dime on this movie unless Adrian Paul plays Bond.
Posted by: MIKA at September 22, 2004 06:36 PM
i think Huge Jackman is the Perfect contender...Apart from physical appearance, he can certainly act, carry on as a polished english gent, and feel at easy pulling of action sequence
Posted by: Ashwin at September 29, 2004 03:14 AM
Hands-down Adrian Paul should be cast as the next James Bond. Please remember that Ian Fleming, the originator of the James Bond character, described Bond as a Neanderthal in a dinner jacket. Sean Connery was the only actor that fit that description. Now there is another, Adrian Paul. All the actors, other than Connery, who played Bond and the proposed new ones, are not rugged enough except for Adrian Paul.
Posted by: Steel at October 1, 2004 06:39 PM
Listen, Adrian Paul is the best choice.. Roger Moore was doing The Saint, and Pierce Remington Steele, before Bond, all Bond actors were not that succesful Movie stars before Bond,,, Adrian Paul have a TV backgound and a lot of fans already.. and he is a Young Connery you cant denied that..
Posted by: Gothi at October 11, 2004 09:08 PM
There is no better person in the world to play Bond than Adrian Paul. Think about it. Sean and adrian both played the roles of Highlander, so why not. My thing is this,a lot of younger women will watch bond if you choose Adrian Paul. Beleive Me! He is an awesome actor, ver smoothwith the ladies, handlesa sword like nothig and carries a very suave look. Think about it.
Posted by: Leona at October 15, 2004 02:24 PM
Adrian Paul would be the best 007 to date.I hope they dont ruin the Bond legacy by puting some young trendy actor in for the part.I also would not see this film unless Adrain Paul is in it.
Posted by: 89Lx at October 18, 2004 02:36 AM
Adrian Paul should be the next James Bond i was thinking may be Clive Owen or Hugh Jackman would take up the role but they are not perfect for that role because peoples want the number sixth James Bond not Pierce Brosnan part two they both will play Bond in Pierce Brosnan style and about Adrian Paul he is handsome, atlethic and mailny he has the typical and original James Bond looks which i havent found in any other contender in the list.
Posted by: Ashwin at October 31, 2004 09:31 AM
I have to say; If Hollywood had any common since, they would ask the fans who they want to play the role of James Bond. But no, you know they have too big of egos to do that. They would rather sit on another flop like the Timothy Dalton movies then to listen to what the paying customers want. I just don’t get it. Adrian Paul must be the next James Bond or they are going to blow it. Hollywood should run a survey and show the people the actors and ask them who best has the look of 007 and who do we think should play the role. How could they go wrong if the conscience turns out to be Adrian Paul?
Posted by: David23 at November 2, 2004 04:54 PM
i only wish 2 things...1) no young hollywood pretty boys to play bond. i.e. jude law, hugh jackman, ewan mcgregor (I can't believe they're even being considered, bond is an older gentleman) 2)the role should be acted true to the character once again. The way it was played by connery and moore. the main quality of james bond is that he remains cool and unruffled in all situations. he doesn't show anger. this is what made pierce brosnan a terrible james bond. pierce displayed "anger" in all his movies. You never saw Connery or Moore do that. whoever plays him, please go back to being the sophisticated, suave ladiesman who saves the world in his spare time. He is NOT an action hero.

HEY EVERYBODY! WHAT ABOUT THE ACTOR WHO PLAYED DRACULA IN DRACULA 2000! OR I HEARD MENTION OF HEATH LEDGER, BUT I WAS SURE THAT THE POWERS THAT BE ALREADY DECIDED ON CHRISTIAN BALE! EVER CONSIDER ANY AMERICAN ACTORS FOR BOND? EDWARD BURNS, JOSH DUHAMEL FROM THE TV SERIES 'LAS VEGAS',OR PERHAPS SOME MALE MODEL WITH NO ACTING EXPERIENCE WHO HAS THAT CERTAIN 'IT' QUALITY! OH WELL, THINK ABOUT IT....I'M ALSO AN 'AVENGERS FAN'! THEY NEED TO REDO THAT MOVIE!!!! FOR GODSAKE! I'M GONE..........THX.

OOPS......THE GUY IN DRAC. 2000 IS GERARD BUTLER! DUH!!! SO SORRY ABOUT THAT FOLKS.....OOH! DON'T YOU THINK THAT THE FUTURE BOND MOVIES SHOULD HAVE MORE CHARACTERS LIKE 'JAWS' AND 'ODDJOB' TO GIVE THE MOVIE UNFORGETTABLE BADDIES THAT MAKE THE BOND MOVIES SOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Posted by: MASON at November 18, 2004 12:23 PM
Enough about Sean Connery! For crying out loud, watch "You Only Live Twice" then come back and talk about Sean Connery as Bond. That is the worst Bond film EVER! In FACT it's so bad, Mike Myers practically repackaged the entire film in the 90's as a very successful COMEDY! People forget that the Bond series originated in books and if you've read any of the books you'd know that Connery's acting was nothing close to the real Bond. He simply played Bond first, so thats what people know. Remember Dalton? He tried to play Bond like Connery and failed miserably! So whoever is the next Bond I hope to god for the sake of the series he doesn't follow in Connery's footsteps. I'd rather him follow in Moore's or Brosnan's... Their Bonds were closer to the book of Bond and uhh, did much better at the box office. And that's what really counts. Not critics "idea" of Connery as Bond, but how many tickets are sold. That tells you who's putting them in the seats. And history shows, Moore and Brosnan did that more than anyone else. Bond has to be very English, very smooth and has to always look cool, calm and collected. Connery always looked constipated. Take another fair look at all of the Bond films (like my father did) and you just might change your mind about Sean's Bond (as my father did). Aside from Goldfinger it's just not that impressive. When you get down to it, most people who just say Connery was the best Bond use only Goldfinger as his default film. It's very narrow minded to just anoint him as "the best" Bond because he played it first. Had George Lazenby played Bond first that's who the "majority" of casual (movie) Bond fans would say was the "best". I just cringe at someone screwing up Bond again like Dalton did as he played it like Connery. Ugh, it just sickens me.
Posted by: Randy at November 19, 2004 04:55 AM
This is a follow-up to the above post about how bad Connery really was...
In 1983 Sean Connery returned to the role of James Bond in "Never Say Never Again" and rivaled Roger Moore's "Octopussy" for box office reciepts. (which really tells you what the public likes)
Octopussy stomped Never Say Never Again at the box office in 1983. You can look it up (that is FACT). Now why did that happen if Connery is "everyones" favorite Bond?
Please, no more Connery, no more Dalton. Not smooth, not charming, no where near the book of Bond and terrible with the "tongue-n-cheek wit Bond is supposed to have.
I know my posts will probably ruffle a few feathers, but I just say this. View ALL the films and re-evaluate what you see. You'll see that Connery didn't care, Lazenby wasn't all that bad and Dalton...uhh, well he just plain sucked. Moore and Brosnan made the most popular "collection" of Bond films. Connery had "Goldfinger" but nothing more than that. All of Brosnan's were excellent and Moore's films frankly saved the series from dying in the 70's.
Posted by: Randy at November 19, 2004 05:11 AM
Adrian Paul is the most obvious choice. He will be fabulous and had not only the female appeal but the wry touch of whimsy that Connery did so well. Let us hope that the voices of the Adrian Paul fans are heard!

Geoffery Moore should be the next James Bond.Geoffery is handsome and has that old fashion Bond style, he has all the looks that a candidate would need to become James Bond (and i have to say that all the other lack that), he has Roger Moores DNA,the lifestyle and foremost a father, who was, is, and will be the hero of millions.Roger Moore is my favourate James Bond and love to see Geoffery play Bond in his dad style
Posted by: Shawn at December 11, 2004 04:42 AM
I am a huge Bond fan and long believed Adrian Paul was overlooked and underappreciated. He definately has the look and demeanor of Bond. Plus all Bond actors were known but not huge mega stars like Hugh Jackman (who I adore also but doesn't have the to die for scottish accent) which makes Adrian a natural selection.
Posted by: 007spygirl at December 14, 2004 02:28 AM
I think so there are only two peoples to play Bond one is Adrian Paul and other is Geoffery Moore because i only found these two contenders have that old Bond looks and style.Among them one is Sean Connery and other is Roger Moore now people have to decide they want whom Sean or Roger

I am a big fan of James Bond i had started watching James Bond movies since from my Teen age i love every Bond and every Bond movie but the Bond i like most was Roger Moore his Bond was really a facinating one.If Bond got the maximum Female fans it is only because of the Bond played by Roger Moore.Roger Moore was the most romentic, flurt, James Bond his bond was ideal man for womens they just fall in love with him while watching his movie.Sir Sean connery also have female fans but it was because of his killer instinct his sex appeal and because of his ravishingness but not because of the Bond he played so i think so the next Bond should be like Roger Moore style and who would be more good than his son Geoffery i think so Geoffery could be a very good James Bond

adrian paul for bond, he is for sure a sean connery type all the way
Posted by: bond fan at December 31, 2004 02:20 AM
I totally agree with those who have said Adrian Paul would make a GREAT Bond.
And it isn't just the fans who think so... he nearly got the part before it went to Pierce Brosnan, who likewise missed out on the part the first time he went up for it.
Adrian has a great air about him, he would be incredible as the suave super-spy.
