Montreal WalMart sells new Harry Potter in advance of release date

Whether it's luck, a mistake or maybe a little magic, a copy of the newest Harry Potter book is in the hands of a Montreal woman before its official release.

Melissa, who spoke to The Gazette on the condition her last name not be used, bought Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the highly anticipated fifth volume in J.K. Rowling's series, on June 12 at a Wal-Mart on the South Shore.

Melissa was not so shy as to avoid having her picture taken for the Montreal Gazette. Must now rattle chains in irritation for lack of own copy of the new Harry Potter.

"Continue reading..." is such a banal invitation. Emperor Misha's post-extending button (surely there is an MT term for this) reads "Give us more, O Caesar!"... Does anyone know where MT hides its format for this feature?

It's in your "main index" template somewhere between these two tags:

In the standard MT template (from MT's site) it looks like this:

#more">Continue reading ""

When you edit your template, all you have to do is change the 'Continue reading' to whatever you want to change it to...

There's also some code out that allows you to expand and contract your entries on the main page of your site rather than popping up a new page for the extended entry (you can do this for the comments as well, but I found that a bit intrusive.) Emperor Misha's site does this, as well as on my own site (as well as many other sites out there.)

Email me and I'd be more than happy to help.

Woops I did put code in there but the comments didn't like it...

Basically it's between

MTEntryIfExtended and the closing
/MTEntryIfExtended tags.

Let me know if you want to see it in detail...

And she's on page 500+ of a 700+ page book already? Gadzooks!

But, give me a break. The book is coming out 6/21. If I got three copies in advance, and somebody offered me $5,000 (even Canadian) for it, I'd give the book back for a few days more waiting.

Fred: I would have taken the five thousands too...

Ray: Thanks for the MT tip!
